Description
Our Microsoft Outlook Save as PDF add-in can save Outlook email as PDF (along with attachments) just like our standard Save Email As PDF add-in. But, it can also save the emails and attachments to one big file, either a simple monolithic file or as a PDF Portfolio. A PDF Portfolio is a single PDF file that contains a wide range of many other files, which themselves may or may not be in PDF format. A Portfolio is usually indexed by the files that are contained within it, so when it comes to emails it makes a great organizing tool. You can find out more about PDF Portfolios from Adobe.
In addition to being able to save emails and attachments to PDF, this Microsoft Outlook Save as PDF add-in supports rules so that you can convert emails from this person to this folder, and emails from that person to that folder. Each rule can be set up to generate different PDF formats (for instance save emails but not attachments, or append the email and any attachments to the end of an existing PDF file).
This Microsoft Outlook Save as PDF Pro add-in does all the work and contains everything you need to start creating PDF files out of your inbox, and it will allow you to create PDF files instantly.
Like our standard Save As PDF add-in, this add-in first converts the email to PDF, then takes each attachment and inserts that into the PDF as well. It works on Microsoft® Word® files (.doc and .docx), Microsoft Excel® files (.xls and .xlsx), Microsoft Powerpoint® files (.ppt and .pptx), plain text files (.txt), HTML files (.htm and .html), PDF files, image files (.tif, .jpg, .gif, .png, plus other image file formats) and even unpacks compressed zip files.
The ability to save all your emails and attachments to a PDF Portfolio file is perfect for archiving your important emails in non-proprietary formats and, the Microsoft Outlook Save as PDF add-in can automatically append to an existing PDF Portfolio or create a new one.
If there are any problems along the way (for instance, AutoCAD® drawings, videos or other proprietary formats), the add-in has the ability to move the email to another folder. This is useful if you’re using batch mode to generate a bunch of PDF files all at once, so you can easily see which ones cannot be converted. It can include the file as an attachment in the PDF, or it can simply flag that email with a category so you can go back later to see which ones cannot be converted.
The save as PDF software can also print the PDF once it has generated it. It does not queue the email, then the attachments – this can lead to out of order printing. What it does is submits the PDF as a single print job to guarantee that each email is followed by its attachments in the printer, in order. Note that this feature requires you to have the Auto Print Pro add-in, sold separately.

“When a client dumps 1,000 outlook files to me, I am trying to find a way to save those to .pdf for production in litigation. This is the real problem I have.”
