Learn to Grow Your Business

You can grow your business with the Send Individually for Microsoft 365 add-in by sending your most important newsletters and other client communications to each of your customers, one at a time.

You do this by choosing an Excel file, composing an email, generating the drafts, then sending them to your recipients, in a process known as sending a campaign.  See our Getting Started with Send Individually guide for the basics.

You can learn more about each step in the campaign process:

Sending Your Personalized Emails

Here’s something to keep in mind as you prepare your campaigns:

Keep your lists small and manageable.  While you can send to as many as 1,000 people every 24 hours, if you do this day after day make sure that what you are sending is information that is truly valuable to your end users.  In other words, this product is not appropriate if you purchased a list from a random online vendor because you are sending emails from your own account.  As a result, your account will be shut down by Microsoft if your campaign sends to too many email addresses that bounce, if the majority of your recipients decide to classify your email as Junk Mail, or if you send to too many recipients within 24 hours (2,500 to be exact, according to Microsoft).  In other words, there are many ways to go awry, so handle each campaign with care, and make sure you are delivering value because Sperry Software will not be able to help you.

That said, there are several great benefits to using the add-in:

Flexibility: It’s driven off your Excel file.  Your Excel file has the email address listed in the To column (which must be the first column), followed by CC, BCC, Subject, and Attachment columns, then any columns after that can include any other information you would to include for personalization, for example, Column F could be your recipients first name.  In fact, there’s a campaign template Excel file available to help you get organized.

Accuracy: When you generate your personalized emails, they go into your Drafts folder.  You can then review them or edit individual ones to be sure that they have all generated properly before invoking the batch send process.

Simplicity: Once you’re happy with the generated emails, one click is all it takes to start the send process.  Note: as mentioned, the add-in is limited to a maximum of 1000 rows in your Excel file and throttled to sending 1 email every ten seconds.

Privacy: The emails that are sent to your recipients are sent right from your mailbox to theirs.  There are no third parties.
